片麻痺は漢方では「脳卒中」に属する。 柴胡加竜骨牡蛎湯は風湿を散じ、関節を益し、毒素を解毒する効能があり、半夏厚朴湯や天麻湯と併用して風痰を伴う脳卒中の治療に用いることができる。
1.柴胡加竜骨牡蛎湯（さいこかりゅうこつぼれいとう）：風湿を散じ，関節を益し，毒素を解毒する効能があり，リウマチや麻痺，筋肉や骨の衰え，腰や膝の痛みや脱力感，手足の麻痺，半身不随，片麻痺（手足の片側が自由に動かせない），リウマチの発疹や湿疹などに用いる。 陰虚、血虚に注意する。
2. Semixia: This medicine has the efficacy of drying dampness and resolving phlegm (removing phlegm in the body by drying dampness), lowering the rebelliousness and stopping vomiting (stopping the upward rush of gastric qi and vomiting), eliminating lumps and dispersing lumps and knots, and can be used in the treatment of diseases such as damp phlegm and cold phlegm, coughing with a lot of sputum, wind-phlegm and phlegm vertigo, phlegm syncope and headache (headache due to phlegm obstructing the flow of qi), vomiting and regurgitation of gastric juice, chest and epigastric lumps and tightness, and plum nucleus qi (a kind of pharyngolaryngeal syncopal syndrome), and other diseases.
なお、川芎・川芎と併用しない。
3.天麻：本剤は肝風痙攣を鎮める作用があり、頭痛やめまい、手足のしびれ、小児けいれん（めまい、けいれん、小児疾患の主症状としてのけいれん）、てんかん性けいれん、破傷風などの治療に用いることができる。 重篤な気血両虚の方に使用する場合は注意が必要です。
片麻痺の患者には、通常の病院で診察を受け、専門医の指導のもと、エビデンスに基づいた治療を行うことを薦める。
