Hypertension causes vascular lesions, which are mainly reflected in the following three aspects: firstly, acute elevation of blood pressure causes damage to the intima of blood vessels, which results in endothelial rupture, causing aortic coarctation, leading to rupture of blood vessels; secondly, hypertension causes damage to the walls of arterial vessels, and blood lipids enter under the endothelium of blood vessels, forming atherosclerosis. Long-term hypertension will lead to the progression of atherosclerosis, causing plaque rupture, and blood vessels will become occluded and thrombosis will form; thirdly, chronic hypertension will also cause vitellogenic changes in the middle layer of small arteries, arterial hyperplasia and stenosis, leading to further increase in blood pressure.
